SHARED CONNECTIONS IS COMING UP ON JULY 26th & 27th!

I'M HOPING TO ADOPT

The process of adopting comes with its challenges. Shared Beginnings aims to provide information, education and support to families hoping to adopt.

As an expectant and birth mom support organization, we function a bit differently than most agencies.

We dream of a world where every adoption is ethical and every voice is heard so we encourage you to ask the hard questions as you select an agency.

WHAT SHARED BEGINNINGS OFFERS YOU

CONNECTION

We are big proponents of open adoption. This not only benefits the child but both sets of parents. Attachment and a sense of being are tremendously important to any human. We grow these relationships through regular video chats with families and in person visits.

EDUCATION

Adopting a child is a huge responsibility. We rely heavily on adult adoptees and birth mothers to guide our organization and the adoptive families we work with. We require ALL adoptive parents to undergo at least 10 hours of education as a part of our training program. In this program, you will learn about expectant mom support, open adoption, transracial adoption, navigating post-placement relationships, and much more!

TRANSPARENCY

We value truth and transparency in adoption. We are advocates for more ethical Arkansas legislation in adoption over the past 4 years, which means we stand by the fact your journey with us will be one filled with answers and clarity about the process and details.

For more information, check out our answers to the most frequently asked questions and other resources.

HOW THE ADOPTION PROCESS WORKS

From the moment you consider adoption until the process is complete and everything in between. We strive to fully educate and support everyone involved with only the most factual and updated information available.
